This is a deep ruby with crimson hue. A welcoming aroma of ripe plum and the scent of a winter Christmas kitchen. Exquisitely structured with sweet fruit, supported by layers of fine tannin creating a taut yet luscious mouthfeel. Best cellared five to fifteen years from vintage.
The Gimblett Gravels is a place of warmth, stone and sandy alluvial soils. This unique combination, along with other climatic factors such as sunshine hours, humidity and rainfall means the gravels retain heat, result in optimum ripening for Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet.
About Craggy Range
A focus on quality, right from the very beginning in 1998. Craggy Range is a quintessential, family-owned winery, situated in the shadow of the spectacular Te Mata Peak.
Craggy Range produces a collection of iconic wines from multiple regions in New Zealand including Hawke's Bay, Martinborough and Marlborough. Terry Peabody and his family pursued the single vineyard approach to winemaking, taking an innovative approach to select unique parcels of land and planted vineyards that would produce wines that spoke of their place.
